Baroque trumpet music
Lokale 232 kl. 16.30
Already at the time when the trumpet did not have any valves yet, it had a special function and significance for the orchestral music as well as as a solo instrument. In the baroque period, the trumpet was often used for festivities, often in connection with the church.
6 trumpet students of the trumpet class of Prof. Kristian Steenstrup will in this concert present some of the most outstanding and famous baroque works for trumpet in various ensembles and together with organ.
In addition to various pieces of G.F. Händel, for example the most popular concerto for two trumpets by A. Vivaldi will be performed alongside with the Sonata à 7 for 6 trumpets, kettledrums and continuo and much more.
